The Appeal

The Millennium was rapidly approaching, and unfortunately, the Rover group were shrinking under its shadow. BMW weren't seeing any improvement to the group's ailing accounts and decided it was time to put them to pasture - absorbing the Mini name for themselves for a modernisation effort that kept the concept but perhaps lost a lot of the spirit.

Rover were allowed to sell up what was left before the axe fell, and so they did with only four variations of Britain's legendary compact. The final Minis were sold as the Mini Classic Cooper, the Mini Classic Cooper Sport, the Mini Classic Seven and the Mini Knightsbridge for those overseas. Of course, the Sports variants of these legendarily perky compacts are now the most prized.

This handsome example, picked out in the ever-iconic British Racing Green, comes to us with a commendably low mileage of 45,309 miles from new, and is accompanied by an impressive paperwork file. That 1,275cc MPI A-Series is still ready and waiting to charm its lucky new owner - a worthy, no doubt rewarding modern classic from a much-loved era of British motoring.
