2000 DNA Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder Replica

Highlights

  • Advisory-free MOT valid until 12th November 2024
  • Bodywork professionally fitted by renowned specialist DNA Automotive
  • Delightful period details include retro Veglia instruments, a Nardi Torino 60 steering wheel and stainless steel wire wheels
  • Sensible modern conveniences include an electric roof, electric seats/windows, power steering and ABS

The Appeal

Beloved of the ‘60s ‘Jet Set’ and still regarded as one of the most beautiful front-engined Ferraris ever built, the 250 GT California Spyder is among the most coveted classics of all time. To buy one today, you need a seven-figure bank balance, so we’re delighted to offer a compelling alternative - this well-executed replica by renowned specialist DNA Automotive.
Based upon the capable underpinnings of a 2.8-litre BMW Z3, this ‘2Fifty’ replica benefits from several modern enhancements such as an electrically operated roof, electric seats and windows. This continues under the bonnet where we find a reassuringly German straight-six and driver aids including power steering and ABS. By way of contrast, we’re pleased to report that the aesthetics are devoid of modern touches. DNA has cleverly replicated Touring’s stunning ‘Superleggera’ lines while the interior pays homage to the Marinello original with a selection of delightful period details.
Used sparingly since completion and offered with a current advisory-free MOT, this DNA 2Fifty is in very good overall condition and is ready to enjoy.

The History and Paperwork

  • Chrome quarter bumpers fitted - the vendor points out a slight scrape to the nearside item
  • Undersealed under arches and new inner wheel arches fitted
  • Equipped with stainless steel wire wheels
  • The vendor also identifies a small blemish to the nearside bodywork in front of the side grille, but otherwise, there’s little in the way of wear to report
