The Appeal
The Chimaera did something rather clever. Alongside the quirky, distinctive TVRisms - including, of course, brutally quick performance - it offered a surprisingly civilised and comfortable experience for driver and passenger. There was even a decent-sized boot. In short, it was a worthy successor to big-engined '60s sports cars like the Austin Healey and E-Type.
Given all that, you’d expect this car to have been seriously enjoyed and driven. Because that’s what a Chim is all about. Yet it hasn’t, and that is great news for the buyer. They get a 25 year old car whose four keepers have barely covered an average of 1,000 miles per year.
Finished in rare Blue Magnetique - an unusual mauve metallic colour - with a virtually untouched cream leather interior, it is as close to a new Chimaera as it may be possible to get. Good maintenance and a long MOT to May 2025 - with no advisories - underline the condition and originality of this fine British V8 two-seater.
