The Appeal

After eighteen years in production, the R107 SL was a tough act to follow, but follow it Mercedes-Benz did with the equally impressive R129 in 1989. Designed by the late great Bruno Sacco, the new SL looked markedly different to its predecessor and was packed with new tech, making it not only one of the most advanced, but also one of the safest cars on the road - despite being a convertible. The folding roof was automatic for the first time on an SL - using an innovative electro-hydraulic system that was leagues ahead of what most convertibles had to offer at the time.

This 1998 SL320 has a superb service history with 15 stamps in the original service book. It presents beautifully for its age and the vendor will offer the car freshly MOT tested in readiness for the next keeper. If you're looking for a stylish classic convertible to use and enjoy, these are a great choice, and this looks a particularly fine example.
