The Appeal

Mercedes-Benz skills with a convertible were well established by the time the W124-based E-Class drop top arrived. For those who needed a little more space than the SL, this new car added four-seat practicality and a big boot to the two-seater car’s long list of attributes.
The M111-engined 2.2L 150bhp E220 is arguably the best real world model in the extensive A124 range. It offers decent performance mixed with economy and is perfect for a long trip or relaxing dawdling along country lanes.
This very well cared for example looks great in Blue Black metallic with a contrasting beige leather cabin. It displays a low mileage for the year, which is backed by a good history file culminating in recent servicing and other attention to the fuel system and power steering. There is older work to the wiring loom and cylinder head showing in the file.
The car, known as ‘Anna’ for obvious reasons, comes with its cherished plate - which the owner values at £1,000-2000 - and a long MOT to September 2025. A splendid example of these reliable and durable convertibles.
