The Appeal
Jaguar’s XJS experienced a tumultuous start in life that almost saw it canned before a series of clever redevelopments created a model that lived for 21 years and easily outsold the E-Type, the car that overshadowed its early life.
This beautiful Sapphire Blue metallic XJS Celebration is one of the last built, a Celebration model with the excellent AJ16 4.0-litre motor and some rather useful - and expensive - upgrades by KWE, the renowned improver of all things XJS and XJ6. The vast history file covers over £43,000 of work while the hand-written record of work hints at fastidious owners. The XJS is the modern classic that is at home at a classic car show as cruising across the continent and this much-improved example looks very tempting.

Summary
The XJS was one of Jaguar’s best selling and longest-lasting cars and, amongst considerable competition, one of its most distinctive too. Smooth, comfortable and relaxing, it is the modern classic you can take on long road trip adventures.
This late model Celebration’s calling card is that huge history file and in particular the extensive KWE improvements. Those features certainly give it an edge in the market. It looks handsome in Sapphire Blue, has clearly been very well cared for and surely works as a daily driver or weekend indulgence.
