The Appeal
Toyota’s drive for World Rally Championship success gave the world one of the firm’s best cars - the all-wheel-drive GT4. The push for continued dominance saw the much-improved ST205 arrive in 1994. It, like its predecessors, was a championship winner.
Homologation meant that road users got the same car with light revisions. The ST205 is rightly considered the ‘ultimate’ version of a hugely capable car, its improve turbo delivering 235bhp through the wheels. The suspension was also enhanced and the weight lightened thanks to an aluminium bonnet.
This low mileage 1995 car firmly leans into that illustrious history with its rally-inspired Castrol decals. Off the road for some time, it remains in solid and presentable condition. It looks like it would be a relatively light project to return it to the road. That makes it an interesting buy with a scintillating sports car to enjoy at the end of it.
