1992 Mercedes-Benz 300SL (R129)

Highlights

  • Originally sold and registered in Málaga, Spain
  • Recently restored with significant mechanical and cosmetic work
  • Nearly £6,000 spent in recent years

The Appeal

Replacing the R107 must have been an imposing task for Mercedes-Benz, but the R129 made up the expectation with remarkable grace with modernised - yet still immediately recognisable - styling and a comfortable cabin that carried on its predecessor's legacy of fine, wood-trimmed comfort. It was a rousing success. Perhaps one of the best 90s-era executive cars.

This example has been restored to a high standard, bringing it back to former glories in style. From the new paintwork to the restored upholstery and the repaired mechanics, it's now a bottle-green beauty that defies its years, packed with a lesser-spotted light leather and wood cabin.

A solid, clean and eminently drivable example of one of the finest cars of the 90s - this will no doubt be a seductive prospect to any enthusiast.
