The Appeal

Nobody could have expected the immense success of the XJS. When it first hit the market in the '70s, the oddly angular, expensive tourer struggled to hit the zeitgeist. A clever rethink in 1981 brought it to towering new heights - then, in 1991, it was facelifted into the altogether more robust, efficient car that boasted a lighter, airier cabin design and a greater level of standardisation. In the end, the car would be on the market for more than twenty years, and would go down as one of Coventry's greatest success stories.

This 1992 example boasts a comprehensive service history and significant recent work, including a major service, and was subject to a twin headlight conversion in 2014. It's in fine fettle, with a lovely developed patina that only adds to the car's already distinguished character.
