The Appeal
For those in the know, the 348 is a canny buy. Early cars were criticised by reviewers but Ferrari were quick to fix the problems.
That means later examples like this 1991 348 TS are a clever choice. Channelling the iconic aesthetics of the Testarossa - particularly those side strakes - with the 3.4L Dino powerplant from the 288GTO makes these cars popular with those who really know them.
This one is a very good example. Its trio of keepers have used it regularly but sparingly, keeping the mileage down to 55,287 in 33 years. Thankfully they’ve been similarly careful with the service history which shows regular maintenance by well regarded specialists. There have been three cambelt changes - most recently at 52,504 miles - and ongoing servicing to 54,063 miles.
Classically finished in Rosso Corsa with two tone Crema and Nero interior, this is a beautifully preserved example. You’ll struggle to find any indications of its age or use across the exterior or interior surfaces. It will be sold with a fresh 12 months, meaning it is ready to use and enjoy. And what a joy it will surely be.

If we’re being exceptionally picky you will note a light sheen to the driver’s seat bolster and some light scuffs to the plastic ignition shroud. But you’ll have to look to find them. Beyond those tiny issues this car is resplendent and a fine reminder of the stylish Testarossa-inspired aesthetics that make the 348 increasingly popular with discerning collectors.
The Mechanics
- 296bhp 3,405cc ‘Dino’ V8 engine
- 5spd manual gearbox
- Fitted with ABS
- Uprated Nouvalari exhaust fitted in February 2019

The 348’s mechanical specifications were delectable. The 3.4L V8 shared with the 288GTO was mated to a traditional 5spd box, with dogleg, and modern technology like ABS to deliver a viscerally exciting driver’s package.
This car has sustained those qualities over 33 years thanks to the careful maintenance of its three keepers. It has been regularly serviced and the cambelt replaced three times. The former runs to 54,063 miles and the latter to 52,504 miles. The odometer currently shows 55,287 miles.
