The Appeal
The Supra was gunning for Europe’s high performance coupe crown. With the second generation A60 it got very close. With the bigger and more luxurious third generation, for many, it took it.
That was thanks in no small part to its turbocharged 3litre engine, sleek looks and bulletproof reliability. Equipped with the engaging 5spd gearbox, these were cars for long distances or B road blasts.
Not surprisingly, the rare survivors are sought after by collectors. This one has recently been released from the collection of its long term keeper - a Japanese performance car enthusiast - and carefully recommissioned, including full service, cambelt, brake overhaul and new tyres. Alongside the desirable factory manual box it benefits from light tuning by specialists such as Bob Brian and Turbo Systems.
Looking very presentable inside and out - including a set of cossetting grey leather seats - this car comes to market with the added advantage of a long, advisory-free MOT to February 2025.
The History and Paperwork
- First UK registered 23rd February 1990
- Previously part of the Mayo Collection
- Acquired by Mr Mayo in 1994 and driven daily by him until 2003
- He replaced it with a Lancer Evo and put the Supra into dry storage
