Volkswagen's German production lines replaced the angular T3 (known elsewhere as the T25) in 1979 - but the firm's Brazilian factories continued to build 'Bay Window' vans until 2013! These later T2s represent a fabulous opportunity for us air-cooled fans looking for a classic van that's a little newer and therefore likely to be a little less tired.
This 1989 Brazilian Type 2 looks to be in very good condition for its age, resplendent in the classic VW colour 'Brilliant Orange'. Recently imported from Brazil where the warm climate seems to have been very kind to it, the bodywork of this van looks very solid, also benefiting from a recent restoration. It also looks remarkably well aligned for its age. The black vinyl reupholstered interior looks superb, with minimal signs of wear. Mechanically, everything appears to be in very good order as the van's 1.6-litre flat engine has received a major service.
The van is now registered in France, with a Carte Grise de Collection.
