The Appeal
First there was the Silver Arrow, then there was the Red Arrow, a pair of very low volume special edition SAAB 900s for the Dutch market.
Just 150 Red Arrow cars were built in total. They were based on SAAB’s full pressure 8v turbocharged 3dr 900 car equipped with the Carlsson version of the firm’s ‘airflow’ kit and, of course, finished in red. This is one of the 100 cars built with the more desirable ‘whale tail’ spoiler.
It has been well maintained with plenty of attention over the past two years including a gearbox replacement, cylinder head overhaul and new fuel pump. Registered as a historic vehicle in Poland and featuring a valid technical inspection (MOT), it is a very rare example of these entertaining, stylish 80s icons.
