The Appeal
To make a car relaxing and effortless takes, well, effort. Something I think we can agree that Mercedes-Benz’ engineers expended lots of on the R107. The enduring appeal of these durable cars lies in their ability to waft and cosset in equal measure, whether it’s cruising to the south of France or some local British countryside.
This 1987 300SL has clearly led a charmed life, covering just 88,000 miles in its 37 years whilst enjoying exactly the sort of maintenance regime you want to find on one of these cars. It left the factory painted Champagne, which neatly compliments the original brown fabric roof and beige interior.
Since acquiring the car early 2023 the vendor has invested £4,000 across the car including an interior refurbishment in 2024, dial binnacle overhaul and alloy wheel renovation. It will be sold with the reassurance of a fresh 12 months MOT.
