The Appeal

For those in the wedding hire business or looking to buy a car for your own special day, this 1982 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur would be the perfect candidate. Renowned in period for its clever use of hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension - an idea borrowed from Citroën and further developed by Rolls-Royce, the Silver Spirit (and long-wheelbase ‘Spur’) rode better than just about anything else on the road. These cars were favoured by practically every A-list celebrity of the day and now you can own one too!
Fittingly finished in “wedding white”, this early Silver Spur has played a key role in many couples’ ceremonies. It’s vital that such a car is well maintained and so this Rolls has been properly looked after throughout the vendor’s tenure of nearly three decades. Now exempt from road tax and MOT testing, this capacious cruiser awaits its next custodian.

The History and Paperwork

  • Exempt from road tax and MOT testing

  • The bodywork looks very straight down both sides and the doors appear to fit well
  • The paint is very smart overall, with an even shine and few notable blemishes

  • The underside presents well for its age
  • The beige leather upholstery with black piping sports an attractive patina

  • No notable wear is apparent to the deep-pile lambswool carpets in the rear
  • Slight deterioration to the right-hand edge of the dashboard
  • Smart woodwork with only slight signs of age

  • Very smart engine compartment
