The Appeal

We are very pleased to welcome the TR7 back in from the cold. For too long this brilliant British sports car was unfairly maligned. Now many are recognising what a select few already knew: this is not just one of Triumph’s best cars, but one of our motoring industry’s finest.
Comfortable, relaxing and engaging to drive, the TR7 may have suffered build problems in period but they don’t detract from its intrinsic abilities. Now 40 years on they barely matter. Find a good one and you get a very usable sports car that is still great value compared to more established models.
This 1981 convertible is certainly a good one. Restored in 2016, including a switch to popular Persian Aqua metallic, it is a impressive condition inside, outside and underneath. And pleasingly original, right down to the period-correct AM/FM tape player.
The list of recent work includes a new blue hood, carburettor tune up and service. There is also a long, advisory-free MOT to April 2025, although this car is now eligible for Historic Vehicle status. It will be sold with the distinctive, age-appropriate private plate.
