The most

It's perhaps easy to see why this magnificent bike has been in collections as far apart as the USA and Japan. It's beautiful, of course, finished in classic Van Veen racing colours, but it also has the necessary pedigree to take its rightful place in these collections.

In the 1970s and early 80s, the small Kriedler team dominated the 50cc GP class, racking up a string of victories with bikes like this. It is reported to have been entered in 1981 by the famous Dorflinger team - which won the title in 1982 - before moving to the Rudge racing team for the 1983 season.

One of two bikes affectionately known to enthusiasts as the 'Krudge' - because nobody was really fooled that it was a Rudge - it was fielded by Ian McConachie's team.

One bike had a short-stroke engine, the other a long-stroke engine - this is the latter configuration. After retiring from racing, the bike remained a household name, appearing in those high-end international collections and being restored in the Van Veen green and orange colours. This is a rare bike with an excellent provenance. We are told that it is in good working order and will grace any collection of a discerning enthusiast.
