The appeal
From the late 1960s to the 1980s, the Italian convertible sports car market was dominated by two 'Spiders'. Both had bodies designed and built by Pininfarina in Turin and were powered by twin-cam engines, although in every other respect they were totally different cars. We're talking, of course, about the 105/115 series of the Alfa Romeo Spider and the Fiat 124.
It's not for us to decide which Spider was better; indeed, both had great qualities. However, it's worth noting that the Fiat was hugely successful in motorsport, including rallying, hill-climbing and circuit racing. We're delighted to offer this example from the final years of production, featuring a fuel-injected version of Lampredi's iconic 2.0-litre twin-camshaft in-line four-cylinder engine.
Resplendent in 'British Racing Green', it's a beautiful example, and underneath the bodywork, its mechanics have been the focus of much attention in recent years. For those looking for a well-maintained, fully functional example, you've come to the right place.
