Pity the poor Allegro. Intended as an innovative, new and handsomely appointed saloon for the 1970s, it's hardly picked up the finest reputation - but perhaps this example will change your mind. Taking cues from the Princess before it, the Vanden Plas Allegro is an upmarket, finely-trimmed variant of its base British Leyland buildmate.
More expensive and significantly rarer than the Allegro, the Vanden Plas Allegro is a lesser-spotted classic with a distinguished grille and a traditionalist twinge to its cabin, all of which - for our money - leads to a much richer driving experience for the discerning enthusiast.
This particular Allegro is worthy of consideration - it's a remarkably distinguished example. The vehicle has been meticulously maintained, with the current owner having serviced it regularly since purchasing it in 2020. The car's underside is fully undersealed and has never been welded, indicating a solid and rust-free structure.
With that impressive Vanden Plas interior in fine fettle, a rich bronze livery and solid metalwork throughout, we've no doubt this rare classic will attract plenty of attention.
