The Appeal
A very nice original example of the GT550 from Suzuki, with a 3-cylinder 2-stroke air-cooled engine that produces around 50 BHP giving it a claimed top speed of 110 MPH.
A mid-sized bike that was a great all-rounder, being fast, comfortable with plenty of room for a pillion passenger and no need to fiddle about with the correct ratio of 2-stroke oil as this was all taken care of automatically by a separate oil tank that metered out the correct oil dosage direct to the cylinders.
The GT550 also featured Suzuki’s Ram Air System, which helped direct air flow across the cylinder head to aid engine cooling when under extreme loads. The 3 cylinder engine is very smooth with very little vibration noticeable and has a wonderful and unique sound, through its 3 into 4 exhaust system, unlike any other bike.
This one owner bike has been very well looked after over its years and kept very original. In recent years it has been dry stored and now presents a great opportunity for someone looking for a great example of this early classic Suzuki triple with a subtle patina of its years and use.IMG_3044 2.jpg8.83 MB
Presented in good cosmetic and mechanical condition this is a very nice and clean original example of the Suzuki GT 550, a great middleweight bike that is nimble and responsive to the rider, with more than enough performance to put a smile on your face.
