In the 1960s, Kawasaki was in the kitchen cooking up what it dubbed their ‘New York Steak’ project. The result was the Kawasaki KZ1 900, a successor to the legendary Z1 and a standout in the world of classic motorcycles. Known for its powerful 903cc engine and impressive performance, and later by the simplified KZ900 moniker, with redesigned carbs. It was a game-changer in its time, though it sadly had little chance against the Honda CB750. This particular KZ900, registered as NUX 627P, is a prime example of Kawasaki's engineering prowess and is a must-have for any serious collector or enthusiast.
This KZ900 was first registered in January 1976 and imported to the UK in 2013. The current owner, who acquired it in 2021, has ensured it remains in very good order. Fully restored to its original glory, this motorcycle not only looks stunning but reportedly starts effortlessly and runs superbly; with four-pot power ready and waiting for the road and a remarkable eye for authenticity.
