The Attractions
Even after the launch of Fiat's new hatchback, the 126, the 500 remained on the market. And no wonder, because even in the early 1970s, 15 years after it began production, the 500 was considered aesthetically pleasing and was still a perfect, agile and economical city car in great demand among buyers.
Called R or 'Renewed', the 500 was updated and equipped with the larger 595 cc engine of the 126, and also received other improvements to make the interior more comfortable. This makes this latest version particularly popular and desirable.
This car was restored in the late 1990s and then driven for a few years before being garaged. Finished in elegant Midnight Blue, it presents itself very well and is usable immediately - it even has a valid MOT - but could also be further improved if desired.
This solid 500 seems perfect both for those who wish to use it as it is as a practical and pleasant city car, and for those who choose to give it the attention it needs to take it to the next level.
