1975 Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2

Highlights

  • One of only 521 production 365GT4 2+2 cars
  • Very original in a great colour scheme
  • Delectable 4.4litre ‘Columbo’ V12 and 5spds manual combination
  • Extensive history with recent full service

The Appeal

Enzo spent a lot of time getting his front-engined V12 GTs right because they funded his all-important racing team. The result was a run of delectable cars like the 275 and Daytona and this, the 365 GT4 2+2.
This styling of this car was a departure from the sculpted lines of those earlier cars. The chiselled Pininfarina lines have aged particularly well, which explains why these very rare cars - just 521 were built - are increasingly sought after by collectors. The combination of thart 4.4litre 320bhp ‘Columbo’ V12 and 5spd manual no doubt help too.
This beautifully presented car is in one of the best colour schemes for these cars. Its light blue metallic paintwork and Nero leather interior are believed to be largely original and remain in superb condition. Mechanically this car is also spot on, the thick history file underlining the provenance. It has been regularly and recently serviced.
After spending some of its life in Sweden the car is now registered in Czechia. Rare and one of the greatest GT cars of all time, this car would grace any discerning collection.

History and Paperwork

  • First registered on 16th December 1975
  • Lots of history including invoices, assessments and service records
  • Regularly serviced and maintained during its life according to seller
  • Promotional materials and a magazine feature on this car included
  • Spent part of its life in Sweden before moving to the Czech Republic
  • Currently registered in the Czech Republic
  • Recently serviced prior to sale
  • Only 524 of these cars were built, of which 3 were prototypes and 521 road cars

The Condition

  • Very attractive mid blue metallic paintwork in very good order
  • Few obvious signs of use other than a small mark visible on the boot
  • Bodywork in very good and apparently original condition
  • Exterior fittings including lights and bumpers are very well kept
  • Sits on factory correct five speed Cromodora alloys in good condition
  • Michelin tyres fitted with good condition and tread
  • Impeccable interior in Nero black leather with few signs of use
  • Luxury GT interior fittings in great order including suede dashboard and console trim
  • Switchgear, dials and fittings in good and complete order
  • Centre console veneer well kept with no obvious deterioration
  • Retains its original period-correct radio
  • Blue carpets are well kept with overmats
  • Leather headlining in cream with good condition and no obvious marks
The crisp Pininfarina lines of the 365 GT4 2+2 proved so pretty and so enduring that they remained in production for many years. Certain colours suit them well, such as the mid blue metallic of this car.
It is in quite lovely condition, apparently highly original inside and out. The exterior and interior fittings are in very good condition with few obvious signs of wear and use. The Nero leather interior is particular delight with its swathes of leather, suede and veneers, accented by the usual Ferrari design verve.

The Mechanics

  • 4,390cc F101 V12 engine developing 320bhp
  • Six of twin choke Weber carburettors
  • 5spd manual gearbox
  • Thick history file with regular and recent service
  • Vendor tells us that the engine, transmission, and other mechanical components work perfectly
This is a Ferrari so, naturally, beneath the crisp Pininfarina lines is a mouthwatering mechanical specification. The 365 GT4 2+2 features Ferrari’s superlative ‘Columbo’ V12 in 4.4litre capacity. It delivers 320bhp, thanks in part to a remarkable set of six twin-choke Weber carburettors. All 521 production 365 GT4 2+2 cars were fitted with manual gearboxes, giving buyers the perfect mix of relaxing GT luxury and press-on engineering set up.
