  • Only four registered owners since new
  • We are assured that this example conforms to the original numbers

The Plus

Designed by the late Marcello Gandini, the man behind the Miura, Espada, Countach and Diablo, the Lamborghini Urraco was, unsurprisingly, an absolutely striking piece of design. With a cross-mounted V8 in a mid-rear position and a five-speed manual gearbox, its performance was equally impressive. The Uracco was in direct competition with the Ferrari Dino and the Maserati Merak, and only 791 examples were built.

This 1974 P250 S model has undergone a four-year service and has been impeccably maintained by the vendor. It is a rare example on the French market and is remarkably original. We are advised that it has only had four registered owners, and the car is accompanied by an extensive collection of documents. An independent inspection was carried out in 2020 and the Contrôle Technique is valid until October 2024.

History and Documents

  • First registered in 1974
  • Delivered new in France, left-hand drive
  • Purchased new by a Swiss painter
  • The second registered owner drove it for two years and decided to repaint it, after which the car was completely dismantled but never reassembled for six years at the coachbuilder's.
  • The third registered owner bought the car in 2004 and spent four years restoring it to roadworthy condition.
  • Everything was rebuilt, including the engine, transmission, upholstery and electrics
  • The history file contains a large number of photos and invoices relating to the work.
  • The Urraco made its return to the road at the 2008 Le Mans Classic, where it is said to have performed very well, and has since been used frequently on the back roads of the Quercy region.
  • The vehicle was serviced between 2004 and 2008, as indicated in the expert's report of 2020 and confirmed by a series of invoices.
  • Since the rebuild, the car has been carefully maintained by a professional mechanic.
  • Acquired by the vendor on 25/10/2019
  • Independent inspection report carried out on 11/03/2020
  • Four registered owners
  • MOT valid until October 2024
  • Stored in garage under cover
  • The odometer now shows 72,000 km - 12,000 km more than when purchased

Condition

  • No modifications have been made according to the seller
  • Perfect condition
  • The paintwork was redone twenty years ago but still retains an even sheen.
  • We are advised that there are no dents, scratches or other notable imperfections.
  • Chrome and badges look good
  • The interior is in very good original condition
  • Front seats have been reupholstered to original factory specification
  • Rear bench seat is still original and in good condition for its age
  • The dashboard and instrumentation are apparently in good original condition
  • The only item missing is the knob that adjusts the brightness of the dials
  • The light blue roof lining is in very good condition
  • We are informed that the driver's side door light no longer works

Having undergone a complete overhaul, this Urraco looks immaculate, remaining remarkably original for its age. This example is made exceptionally rare by the fact that it has a different engine cover in place of a louvered rear window. This was only done for Urracos on the French market to meet registration requirements. Despite the older paintwork, the bodywork still looks good, as does the largely original interior, which has been sensitively reworked only where absolutely necessary.

The Mechanics

  • 2,500cc OHC V8
  • Five-speed manual gearbox
  • Since the rebuild, regular servicing has kept the Lamborghini in good working order.
  • We are informed that the battery has recently been replaced, the engine has been tuned and the braking system has been serviced.
  • The vendor reports that it starts, runs and drives beautifully and is "a pleasure to drive".

Offering 217bhp with a 2.5-litre capacity, the mid-mounted V8 delivers enough performance to make this Urraco a pleasure to drive. After extensive mechanical work and regular servicing in recent years, the vendor reports that this Lamborghini is a very fit example, driving very well and with no known problems.
