The Appeal

Britain has the MGB, Italy has the Spider. Both are stylish and iconic, but that is where the similarities end. To the British car’s enduring simplicity, the Italian responds with typically clever Alfa-esque engineering. The result is a characterful and entertaining two seater drop top.
Alfa Romeo’s new Junior has revisited the idea of the classic ‘conda tronco’ truncated tail. It was an idea that started here, with the revised Series 2 ‘Kamm Tail’ Spider. Designed to address criticism of the original ‘boat tail’ cars, the Series 2 ushered in an iconic style that endured for decades. The Veloce was the most powerful Series 2 variant, equipped with a 1,962cc version of Alfa Romeo’s classic ‘Nord’ twin cam which delivers 130bhp through twin carburettors.
This is a very rare original UK market RHD example. It is an older restoration - refinished in stand-out yellow - with recent 2024 professional bodywork fettling supervised by the enthusiast current keeper. Other recent work since November 2023 includes the fitment of various tasty Classic Alfa parts and a full service and carburettor tune up.
Although registered as a Historic Vehicle - so tax and MOT exempt - it is a reflection of the current keeper’s fastidious standards that it comes to market with the reassurance of a long, advisory-free MOT to April 2025.
This is a beautiful, stylish example of one of classic motoring’s most characterful and rewarding convertibles.
