The Appeal

The advent of the Commando in 1967 signified a new era for Norton, as they moved away from the models that had seen few updates since the late 1940s. After its parent went bankrupt by 1966, Norton was acquired by Manganese Bronze Holdings, providing the cash injection to develop a new model. The Commando name endures to this day and is still Norton’s flagship model.
Here we have one of the originals, a 1972 Norton Commando 750 which has been restored to a very high standard in 2018, having spent years off the road. The previous vendor acquired it shortly after the work was completed in October 2018 and has covered a mere 300 miles across five rides. They believe the bike deserves to be ridden more and so it is now looking for a new custodian. There are just 11,579 miles on the odometer which the vendor believes to be correct.
If you’re looking for a well-sorted classic machine that’s ready to enjoy, this Norton was fully serviced in 2023 and reportedly rides very well.
