The Appeal
There are cars that stand out from the crowd, and then there's the Matra 530. It was the first car entirely designed and built by the firm, where convention was thrown out of the window. Good news for classic enthusiasts, because the result is an absolutely unique sports car that does things quite differently.
With a mid-mounted engine and an ingenious yet compact 2+2 layout, the 530 incorporates unusual lines as well as tasty details like retractable headlights. Later models like this one have been slightly redesigned by Michelotti and have gained an opening rear hatch.
This is one of the best examples we've seen recently.
This is due to a full 900 hour restoration documented by the vendor. Completed in 2021 and used sparingly since, this is an opportunity for the buyer to benefit from all that work. The quality of the car is evident from the photos. It is sold with a valid MOT, so it is ready to drive and attract attention wherever it goes.
