The Appeal
Ferruccio Lamborghini was an extraordinary man. Before turning his attentions to the rich and exclusive field of sports cars, he played a key role in restarting Italian agriculture after the war.
Models like this R230 were economical, robust and reliable. The characteristic orange and blue of Lamborghini tractors spread to fields all over the country. The R230 was one of the last tractors produced while the company was owned by Ferruccio, a more powerful version of the previous 1R with a 1.6-litre 2-cylinder engine.
The R230 was very successful but, being work vehicles, original examples in good condition are rare. This is one of those few, an unrestored but very solid 1971 example in perfect working condition. It is believed to have been used for only 3,000 hours in total.
It has recently been lightly tuned by the seller, and is a valuable witness to a bygone era.
