The Attractions
The original Jaguar XJ6 is unanimously considered a masterpiece. A challenging but thoroughly deserved definition, as this car redefined the concept of a luxury car. It offered a driving experience more satisfying than a Rolls Royce and a design far more attractive than that of its Mercedes-Benz contemporaries. The styling, inspired by that of the E-Type, was so rich in charm and elegance that it influenced Jaguar models well into the new millennium.
The XJ6 Series 1 represents in the purest way the original design conceived by founder William Lyons for this car. A good example is therefore a special car that is hard for collectors and enthusiasts to resist. These early series have unique features, particularly in the cabin with its luxurious wood trim, which distinguishes them from later models. In addition, they were built with greater care, with higher quality standards.
Fresh from a recent €14,000 restoration by the prestigious Modenese coachbuilder, this car showcases all its extraordinary qualities in the best possible way. It is beautifully presented in an attractive and elegant dark blue colour scheme, combined with a reupholstered leather interior. The salesman informed us that the driving experience is just what you would expect from an XJ6: exceptional.
The history of this car is as interesting as its condition is splendid, having been used in several film productions by Gassman and Manfredi. Accompanied by its original documentation, manuals and ASI certification, this is certainly one of the best XJ6s we have seen in recent years.
