The Appeal
The 'Neue Klasse' coupé represented an important evolution in BMW design, a car with sleek, elegant lines, no centre pillars and hand-assembled by Karmann. Its design had a great influence on later models, ushering in the style that would distinguish all BMW cars for years to come and that can be found in models from the 1990s and 00s.
The fastest version was the 2000 CS whose two carburettors increased power to 115 hp. They were very expensive cars and were produced in rather limited numbers. But the few lucky buyers secured a powerful and well-balanced sports car, among the best available on the market at the time.
For all these reasons, the New Klass coupé is highly sought after and collectible today. In view of its importance, this particular example, an original CS built in 1968 and presented in an attractive dark Atlantic blue colour with a contrasting red interior, has received a restoration to a high standard.
Thanks to the meticulous attention it received, the condition is truly exceptional. On the outside, the impeccable high quality paintwork and bodywork in excellent shape stand out, in the interior one cannot help but admire the beautiful new upholstery and restored wood trim.
This car passed its last overhaul recently and was described to us as being in perfect running order. It's hard to find better 1960s classic sports cars than the CS, and we're sure there are few better 2000CS available than this one.
