The Appeal

Enthusiasts are returning to the MGC. These rare cars, with their Austin Healey 3000-derived mechanicals make excellent road and touring classics. The current keeper of this one is just back from a 1,840 mile, 10 day, fault-free tour of the North Coast 500.

It would have made a distinctive presence as it twisted and turned on Scotland's famed coastal route thanks to its British Racing Green paintwork and MGC GTS Sebring-style steel front and rear valances.  They were evolved during a 2020 restoration and respray. It remains in very good condition as you can see in the photos.

The mechanicals live up to the promise of the aesthetics. Beneath the bonnet the 3L straight six has been fully rebuilt in 2007 by none other than Oselli. During the work it was upgraded to Stage 2 specification. Inside there are nods to rally specification - such as the timing equipment - so it could be used for road rallying or some trial events. The trio of UK keepers from new have only ever used it for road trips and touring.

It has been garaged in the current owner’s tenure and is presented in great overall condition.
