- Subject to restoration work
- Fitted with electric start - a sensible upgrade for a 500 cc single
- Reportedly running well and ready to ride
The Appeal
Bastions of the “big single” formula throughout their history, Velocette enjoyed great sporting success with their 500 cc bikes and the Thruxton was the final iteration, before the company folded in 1971.
This 1966 example looks fabulous and the vendor informs us that it rides brilliantly. Resplendent in its original colour scheme, it would be a fantastic addition to any classic bike collection with its stylish café racer lines. Electric start has been added to spark the single cylinder engine to life and the vendor reports that it runs very well indeed.
For those seeking an early Thruxton that’s ready to go, then this is the bike for you.
