When it hit the market in 1964, nobody was too surprised to see a car that looked so broadly similar to the TR4. However, under the bodywork, the car was quite a different vehicle. The big innovation for the TR4A was its wholly Independent Rear Suspension, with semi-trailing arms and coil springs taken from the Triumph 2000 saloon.
The result was an agile, confident-feeling sports car that was sure-footed and comfortable, powered by a perky and distinctly robust 2,138cc powerplant.
This particular 1966 car underwent a meticulous restoration, completed in 2017, which included the use of an original Stanpart body shell and panels. With only 1,157 miles on the odometer since its rebuild, this TR4A IRS offers a superb prospect for any enthusiast.
