The Appeal
In April 1964, Ford unveiled their eagerly awaited new car to the American public. A car that would go on to change the course of motoring history - the Mustang.
Available at launch in either coupe or convertible form with a choice of straight-six or V8 engines and automatic or three or four-speed manual transmissions, Ford couldn’t make Mustangs fast enough as their order books exploded beyond their wildest expectations throughout their American Dealer network.
This matching numbers 1965 example was highly specified from the factory with a 289 cu in (4.7-litre) V8, four-speed manual gearbox and power steering. The folding hood is powered too - a real luxury for the time. This car remains commendably original and superbly presented throughout. We’re informed that it has never undergone nor required total restoration, although it benefits from a full bare metal respray in November 2023, the recent fitment of a new carburettor and a new roof canvas.
If you’re looking for that dream classic Mustang, they rarely get any better than this.
