The Appeal

If you asked a group of people to identify the quintessential British sports car, we’d wager the most common response would be the MGB. Stylish, quick, immense fun to drive and affordable, these little cars are perhaps the ultimate vehicle to enjoy Britain’s B Roads.
This early Roadster would be a fantastic addition to any collection. It’s highly original while having benefitted from a great deal of restoration work and maintenance over the years to preserve its condition. The car has only had two registered keepers and the odometer displays a mere 27,526 miles - which according to the vendor may well be accurate as we know a reconditioned ‘Gold Seal’ engine (with five bearing crank) was fitted in 1990 at approximately 11,000 miles.
A substantial mechanical overhaul was carried out a little over 350 miles ago, ensuring this MGB is ready to enjoy.

 Summary

The MGB roadster is one of the most popular classic sports cars on the road today. Parts are readily available at reasonable cost, as is specialist support and maintenance. The Series I cars are generally reckoned to be the purest and the ones to have. This is one such early model, is in great overall shape and in an attractive original colour. With the contrasting white hard top fitted it would certainly be eye catching and pays homage to the finish of the works prepared rally cars of the period. The alloy wheels further enhance its rugged good looks. This roadster has benefitted from extensive restoration and is now ready to be enjoyed as summer approaches.
