The Appeal

Majestic by nature and by name, the Daimler Majestic Major held enough of that old English charm to retain appeal to the typical Daimler buyer, whilst having deceivingly strong performance capability thanks to a Ted Turner designed 4.5 litre V8 engine and power steering. Pair this with a beautifully elegant body style and a lavishly upholstered interior space and the Majestic Major of the early 1960s was just that, a majestic executive express.
Following a takeover from Jaguar in 1960, a new variant of the Major was offered on the Daimler forecourts, aimed firmly at the chauffeur driven executive market, the Majestic Major could now be purchased as a limousine. The model lended itself perfectly to the body style and whilst increasing in size to account for more passenger space, was still capable of an impressive 120mph thanks to its V8 engine.
This 1964 Majestic Major limousine is a charming example of the model, finished in a classic two colour scheme. Having been used as part of a classic wedding car fleet for some considerable years now it comes to market extensively maintained to a high standard and lends itself well to continued work in the field or to be preserved as part of a private collection.
