Recent new clutch

Comes with a "Classic Additions" car cover, only one year old
The Appeal
The introduction of the MGA represented a quantum leap forward for MG. While its T Series cars had sold well, they were incredibly old-fashioned by the start of the 1950s. It's no exaggeration that the MGA looked (and indeed felt) decades ahead.
Coupés are rare and desirable, especially original examples that have dodged sixty years of damp, salty British winters. That's where this example comes into its own. A right-hand drive Australian car imported to the UK in 2023, it ticks every box an MGA collector wants.
Offered in very smart, usable condition, having reportedly been daily driven back in Australia, this MGA is in good running order and has been serviced regularly.
The vendor comments:
"Stuart is a 1961 MGA Coupé. He resided in Australia and was brought to the UK in 2023 from Canberra, where he was used as a daily driver. Before that, he lived in Western Australia, where he was apparently also used for hill climb racing – therefore, the blue triangle on the driver’s side indicates the position of the battery. He has been kept in fairly original condition. He is UK registered, has no rust, has a 1600 cc engine, twin SU carburetors and all the standard trimmings."
The History and Paperwork
Used as an everyday driver in Canberra, Australia, before being brought to the UK in early 2023
Previously, it was reportedly used for hill climb racing in Western Australia
Right-hand drive
65,981 miles indicated
Kept in good running order, and serviced regularly, but there is no service log book
Includes an owner's manual and a workshop manual
The vendor notes that only about ten percent of these cars were made as coupés
Exempt from road tax and MOT testing
The Condition
The bodywork and underside appear in very good condition for the car's age, clearly benefitting from a life spent in a dry climate
The paintwork is in smart condition and the vendor comments that it shines when washed
The brightwork could use a good polish but is otherwise in fair order
The car comes with a "Classic Additions" car cover, just one year old and in good shape
A Clarion radio and CD player is installed, hidden behind the MG blank on the passenger side dashboard
The seats exhibit some wear an repair work, so the new owner may wise to repair or reupholster
The car has a Moto Lita wooden steering wheel fitted; two additional steering wheels come with the car: the original and a small modern competition-style steering wheel
The Mechanics
1.6-litre B Series four-cylinder petrol engine
Twin SU carburettors and all ancillaries
Four-speed manual gearbox
The mechanical fuel pump has been replaced with an electric pump; the original pump is included if the next owner wishes to service and re-install
The vendor says the clutch was replaced in 2021
The vendor comments that the MGA is fun to drive, feeling like a go-kart, close-to-the-ground, light, nimble, and with very direct steering
