Thick history file attesting to enthusiast ownership
Beautifully original and in classic colour scheme
The Appeal
The Giulietta Sprint didn’t need to be so good. Alfa Romeo’s engineers had already bested the competition long before they finished work. But with a team that included Franco Scaglione at Bertone on design and Giuseppe Busso on engineering the Sprint was always going to go that extra mile. It promised to be very, very good.
And it was. Beautifully styled and superbly engineered, including the firm’s new twin cam ‘Nord’ engine, the Sprint was quickly embraced by racing drivers as well as enthusiastic drivers.
The 101.02 chassis number for this car indicates it left the factory as a standard 1300cc Sprint. Restored to a high standard and presented in beautiful condition, this is a superb example of a car that is a key component in the Alfa Romeo legend.
Classic Alfa Romeo red with high quality restored bodywork and paintwork
Very good panel fit with clean lines and no visible marks or damage to finish
Beautiful chrome appears to have been restored and is complete and undamaged
Sits on factory correct steel wheels with chrome hub caps and matching spare
Superb showroom-quality underside with evidence of restoration
Quality Vredestein specialist classic car tyres in good condition with plenty of tread
Gorgeous factory-standard interior in very good order with lovely two-tone trim
Great detailing across the cabin with well kept dashboard, dials and fittings
Original VDO dials in good order and even Alfa Romeo pedal rubbers are well kept
The Sprint is a masterclass in Bertone styling, a svelte, delicately styled coupe that is lightly but cleverly detailed. It looks particularly good in the classic dark red of this example, the paintwork being neatly accented by the drizzle of chrome, which is also in superb condition.
Inside the story continues with a factory correct cabin trimmed in two-tone red and grey and with body colour dashboard. The detailing is impressive, including the well presented VDO dials and Alfa Romeo-branded pedal rubbers. Even the headlining is well trimmed and unmarked.
Factory ‘standard’ Sprint originally supplied with 1,300cc 79bhp engine
Floor mounted 4spd manual gearbox
Extensive service history and maintenance work documented in the photographs
Is a lovely original example
As a 101.02 chassis number car this one would appear to have left the factory as a standard Sprint. The extensive history file documented in the photographs attests to the care and attention of its long term owner. This is a car that has been used sparingly yet continuously maintained.

If an auction vehicle doesn't sell, it may be converted into a “Make an offer” listing. This will retain all of the details of the auction listing but replace the bidding functionality with an offering system whereby potential buyers can make an offer on the vehicle. To take the hassle out of the whole process and to prevent any unnecessary squabbling we'll automatically decline anything less than 70% of the asking price so only offers that are worth considering will be accepted. Make an offer listings include a “Make an offer” button. Simply click on this and enter the amount you’d like to offer and the seller will either accept, decline or counter. Easy peasy. If you don’t have a Car & Classic account with a registered bank card you’ll be prompted to set one up at this point.
If your offer is accepted, you’ll be charged a service fee. The amount depends on the cost of the vehicle and is an additional cost on top of the offer amount. Starting from as little as £/€300, it covers the cost of our various auction and escrow services, but rest assured, we're not in the woollen eyewear business and so the exact amount is always displayed upfront before you place your bid. You will only be charged if your offer is accepted.
The service fee is a charge in addition to any accepted offer amount that varies depending on the cost of the vehicle. Starting from as little as £/€300, the exact fee is clearly displayed upfront before any offer is placed so you always know exactly how much you'll be charged. It covers the cost of our various auction and escrow services and allows us to continue to provide a secure and professional platform from which to transact safely.
If you've ever squeezed a lemon then this'll be a doddle. Firstly you'll need to be logged in to your Car & Classic account and have added a valid payment card to your profile. Once these steps have been completed you can then make an offer by clicking on the "Make an offer" button on the listing page and entering your offer amount before clicking on the “Submit Offer” button underneath.
