Retrimmed interior with new carpets and headlining
Rims replaced with Mercedes 14" wheels, original 13" wheels included
Extensively serviced by the owner
The Appeal
Introduced in 1954 as part of what we often regard the 'Ponton' - so called for its slab-sided, single-unit styling. These cars were the bread and butter for mid-century Stuttgart, and were significant for their advanced crash protection - indeed, this was the first pioneering step of the 'crumple zone'.
Beyond that, though, they're handsomely appointed, attractive cars that are robust, attractive and elegant - with performance that defies their venerable years - and an enormously important component of the company's future; perhaps even a blueprint for every Merc that came later.
This beautiful car has been recently serviced, and carries a fine, retrimmed interior with new carpets and headlining. It's a fine example, that's spent most of its life comfortably garaged - and we're sure will provide a tantalising opportunity for the lucky enthusiast.
