1956 Fiat 1100 Type B

Highlights

  • Restored and well maintained 1100 first series
  • With factory specifications, carefully presented
  • One of the last original Type 103s
  • Original booklet with a very interesting history
  • A practical and usable classic four-seater

The Appeal

In its discreet and modest way, the Fiat 1100 was fundamental, even innovative. It was the company's first car with a monocoque structure and introduced a very classic three-box style that characterised Fiat's family saloons for decades.

The first cars featured charming details such as double dials with cream-coloured surrounds, an elegant grille and front doors that opened upwind. The Tipo B was the most luxurious version, with a front bench seat and more upmarket trim.

This April 1956 example left the factory shortly before the arrival of the new and revised 103 E, thus maintaining the purity of the early cars. Superbly restored in discreet dark blue and with pleasing trim adhering to the original, it is a very attractive and understated example of a very usable 1950s classic. The stamped registration booklet adds considerable character and makes it even more attractive.
