Built to promote a garage in France, costing over £60,000

The Appeal
At a time when many small American pickups carried adapted passenger car hardware, GMC stood out with its bonafide commercial units. Despite sharing much in the way of cosmetics with the Chevrolet Advance Design series—not to mention a very similar name—the GMC 'New Design' trucks, introduced in 1947, were very much a tougher, more versatile beast. Just like the Chevrolets, though, they were ripe for modification and customisation.
This 1952 example has been through exactly that - and what a result! Built as a promotional vehicle for a French garage, this unique hot-rod-style pickup cost in excess of £60,000 to put together. It's been recently serviced and, put simply, is beyond a head-turner. It's not often we see a New Design in the UK at all, let alone one built to such a unique spec. We're certain it'll garner plenty of admiration.
