The Appeal
The Willys MB and Ford GPW, known collectively as the ‘Jeep’, was one of, if not the most significant vehicles from the Second World War. It was leagues ahead of anything the Axis powers could come up with, both in terms of capability and how simple it was to produce. The Jeep was a game-changer on the battlefield, providing ground troops with off-road capable high-speed transport.
This humble machine undoubtedly helped turn the tide of the conflict in favour of the Allies and practically invented the 4x4 vehicle genre in the process. It’s place in history is not to be underestimated.
We’re honoured to present this genuine wartime example, a Ford-built GPW from 1942. With the 80th anniversary of D-Day, a campaign in which the Jeep played an instrumental role, approaching on 6th June, now’s the perfect time to acquire this GPW and take part in remembrance proceedings. The vendor demonstrates that its ‘Go Devil’ engine runs sweetly and no road tax or MOT is required, so you can drive this four-wheeled piece of WWII history straight away.
