The most

The Peugeot 201 was a bold marketing move at a time when the general public simply couldn't afford a car. Released in 1929 during the Depression, no one expected the car to be the success it was - but it managed to keep the company afloat, and managed to outsell almost all of its contemporaries. The trick was to advertise its austerity - and in the 8 years it was on the market, nearly 150,000 units were sold.
The 201 also occupies a special place in motoring history, as it was the first model to feature the now iconic Peugeot numbering system with a central '0', and the 201 'C', launched in 1931, is often regarded as one of the first production cars with independent front suspension.
This particular example has been meticulously maintained and restored to a very high standard, with the bodywork and paintwork in very good condition. The wood-effect dashboard, which is actually aluminium and beautifully painted, is particularly striking. All in all, this is a superb French classic that can do any collection proud.
