Initially renowned as a motorcycle manufacturer, and subsequently becoming the world's largest in 1959 (a title it still holds to this day), Japanese giant Honda branched out and began producing cars in 1963, a move that would see them dominate the auto market, too. Founded by engineer Soichiro Honda, who would begin his career by producing parts for Toyota before establishing Honda as we know it today in 1946, he would subsequently take the company to the stratospheric heights for which it is known today.
From hugely successful, everyday family runabouts like the Civic and Accord, to the super car beating NSX and cutesy Kei-Cars it has been producing for decades, Honda has well and truly cemented itself as a major driving force in classic car culture, whether that be the ever popular Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) or the automotive world as a whole, and with hundreds of models to choose from here at Car & Classic there's surely something for every classic Honda fan.
