Description
This 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu is for sale today from your classic specialist MARTIN MOTEURS. The Chevelle was introduced by Chevrolet in 1964 to compete with models such as the Ford Fairlane and Pontiac Tempest. At the time, the Malibu model was the most upmarket version of the Chevelle range, with a more polished finish, greater comfort and a slightly more refined look. The model presented today dates from 1965. It was in this year that the restyling of the front end was introduced, with a wider radiator grille and twin headlamps. The chassis of this car, which comes straight from New Mexico (USA), has been very well preserved and is in very good condition. A few improvements have been made, such as front disc brakes (which are much easier to adjust than drums), 4 American Racing wheels, and an exhaust system (after headers) to bring out the raging character of the 4. 6-litre V8. The tyres are in very good condition. As for the defects, the boot tray has suffered from poor storage (rubber matting). As a result, it's covered in non-perforating corrosion. The electrical system needs to be overhauled, as the indicators and headlights tend to come on intermittently, making them difficult to use. Finally, the crankshaft seal is showing signs of fatigue, with some seepage.
This car, its engine and gearbox are in perfect working order, but it needs a bit of work to bring it up to scratch so that it can continue to perform at 100% of its potential for many years to come.
An extensive photo / video file of the car is available on request, as well as an appraisal report (€26, 000). In short, if you have a few hours to spend on a car that is more than charming and rare of its kind, this Malibu is undoubtedly a bargain not to be missed. For more information, please contact us.
