Description
I am putting up for sale my Chevrolet Corvair, type 700, from December 1960. I bought it from a collector in Grenoble in November 2014. It is a Chevrolet France model, as indicated on the manufacturer's plate in the engine compartment (photo). The engine is a 2200 cc air cooled flat 6 cylinder. The gearbox is automatic and the car is registered as a collector. As a child, I played with this same car in this same colour, but on the scale of a Dinky Toys! After buying this car in Grenoble, I drove it back to the Vendée. It drives perfectly over any distance. For luggage, there's the front boot and a deep storage space behind the back of the rear seat. This backrest can be folded down to create a vast load area (photo).
Handling is no problem at all. Since this purchase, I've changed the tyres. The front tyres need to be inflated to 1. 7 or 1. 8 kg. Over the last ten years, as well as changing the 4 tyres and the normal oil changes, I've changed the fuel pump and had the brakes adjusted at my local Renault garage.
For spare parts, there's a company in the USA that has EVERYTHING for this model! It's incredible! The fuel consumption is very reasonable: 7. 5 litres / 100 at legal speeds on country roads. This car is beautiful. There's nothing to pay for. All it needs is a good garage long enough to accommodate its 4. 57 m length.
