The Saab Sonett has become a special and rare sight. This superb two-seater sports car has a very unique design, created in part by Italian designer Sergio Coggiola. This Sonett III was introduced in 1970 as the successor to the Sonett II. Production finally ceased in 1974. This beautiful Saab Sonett III was produced in 1972 and therefore has smaller (and prettier) bumpers and the car is powered by the 1698cc V4 engine (from Ford). This car was originally delivered in California (various documents and the original US title are still present!) and in 1997 the car arrived in the Netherlands. On arrival, the car still had its original red colour. During the complete and thorough restoration, the car was expertly repainted in the beautiful Monte Carlo Blu colour. A full restoration report with photos is also available. This Saab Sonett III is still in exceptionally beautiful and magnificent condition. After the restoration, the car was maintained with great care and love. This is not only visible in the sublime condition of the car, but also certainly perceptible while driving. The bodywork is in very good condition (almost new), which is very special for a restoration that is over 20 years old. The body panels fit together perfectly and the doors open and close smoothly and securely. The various rubber parts and seals are also in very good condition. The original alloy wheels were repainted during the restoration and look particularly good under this characteristic sports car. The interior is also still in very good condition. During the restoration, the interior was completely redone and the black leather upholstery forms a perfect combination with the sporty blue body colour. The dashboard is still in very good condition and all the instruments work correctly. The sporty bucket seats are surprisingly comfortable. Under the bonnet, we see a very well-maintained engine compartment in exceptionally good condition. And as its appearance allows, so does the car's sound. The 1698cc V4 engine runs particularly smoothly and quietly and has enough power to propel the lightweight 830kg Saab Sonett. The car steers smoothly and directly, and gear changes are also very fluid. The brakes are firm and solid.
