The Giulia 1750 GT Veloce , commonly known as the GTV or even the Bertone coupé , has become an Italian icon and one of the essential references of the European sports coupé .
With its rare elegance and real versatility in use, it continues to inspire with its lines designed by the famous Giugiaro, just 22 years old at the time.
The 1750 was the benchmark engine for the Alfisti and was also the most coveted. More torquey than the 1600 and more dynamic than the 2000, it delivered the best of both worlds and, coupled with a 5-speed gearbox that was almost unheard of at the time, the GTV proudly boasted a top speed of over 190 km/ h. The car we are presenting to you is of French origin and was registered on 03/ 07/ 1970. Its last owner, one of our customers and a seasoned collector, kept it for 25 years before selling it to us. We have an extensive history of the car, including numerous invoices dating back to 1982, as well as previous technical inspections and a photo file. The body underwent bodywork restoration some twenty years ago before receiving this paintwork, the colour of which suits it perfectly. The paintwork shows some signs of age but this does not detract from the charm of this car. There is a slight difference in colour on the rear wing, which could be the subject of a bodywork overhaul before the sale. The chrome is in good condition and sparkling. The upholstery is in good condition, as is the woodwork on the dashboard and steering wheel. The carpets are new, as is the boot lining. The dashboard is not cracked and the instrumentation is functional.
The engine is in good health; it starts perfectly without noise or smoke and expresses itself in a cavernous melody that is typical of the Bialbero, whose two Weber carburettors have been tuned to a very satisfactory level. A basic service has been carried out for the sale, as has the replacement of the exhaust system. The gearbox has been flushed, as has the rear axle, and the transmission bearing has also been replaced for the sale. The running gear behaves well. The steering has no abnormal play and the suspension does its job properly, while the braking is effective and perfectly balanced. The wheels fit perfectly and are from the original Momo equipment catalogue, fitted with recent tyres and in very good condition. For those who wish, we can replace the wheels on request. To sum up, this mythical Italian coupé is a beautiful driver in an unusual configuration, its maintenance is up to date and it is ready to hit the roads with peace of mind this summer.
