Introduced at the end of the 60s, the BMW E9 was initially marketed with the legendary 2. 8-litre in-line 6-cylinder carburettor developing 170bhp. It was therefore called the 2800 CS (2800 refers to its cubic capacity and CS stands for Coupe Sport). In 1971, the 3. 0 CS was launched with a 3. 0-litre engine developing 180 bhp. A few months later, the fuel-injected version (i. e. the 3. 0 CSi) with 200bhp was launched. The car was a huge success, both in the cinema and, of course, in the motoring world. The formidable CSL (Coupe Sport Lightweight) versions left their mark on a generation of sports car enthusiasts. The BMW E9 was replaced in 1975 by the BMW E24, the first 6-series in the range. NYC's/ OXOTO hereby offers for sale this sublime example delivered new in April 1973 in Germany (Berlin), in metallic fjord blue (colour code 037), blue leather interior with less than 49, 000 kms on the odometer, but it should rather be read 149, 000 kms. In fact, we have the complete history of this car, which is VERY RARE! Firstly, we have confirmation from BMW that it is presented as it was when it left the factory. Secondly, we have all the maintenance invoices, from the 70s to the present day! Its first owner, a German, kept it until April 1988. We have invoices in his name, both in Germany and in Brussels in the 80s. He sold it to a Brussels garage, which sold it to its second owner, a Belgian. The second owner kept it until 2016, when I, before launching NYC's, bought it back from professionals and restored it (it was still non-roadworthy but fortunately well preserved). We obviously have invoices and photos of the restoration of this sublime E9 3. 0 CSi. The bodywork looks really great, and nothing has been spared to restore its beauty; the quality of the paintwork, the chrome (bumpers and window surrounds), everything is in excellent condition. No dents, no scratches and no corrosion (see photos on the deck). It probably hasn't been in an accident either. The interior is just as beautiful to look at, whether it's the seats, dashboard, headliner, carpets or door interiors, everything looks really good. Everything has been done to keep it as original as possible, of course, and we can say that it's a success! For example, the logos (front, rear and those on the sides) are still the original ones, so they have a certain patina. The electric sunroof also works perfectly. As for the powertrain, everything has been overhauled in recent years to ensure that it runs perfectly (and it does). Take a look at the file of recent invoices on our website. There's really nothing to worry about, as many of the parts are brand new - see photos on the deck. What's more, the latest MOT report dates from June 2022 (48077 km on the clock) and makes no mention of any remarks. Since then, new maintenance invoices have been added to the file (including one for almost €5, 000 in 2024). Note that it still has its original engine! So it's a matching number! This magnificent BMW acted as an 'ambassador' car for NYC's. It was exhibited at various events, including the Brussels Auto show in January 2024, cars & coffee and the 110th anniversary celebrations of a car club in Tournai. It was also featured on the front page of a Moniteur Automobile magazine, where it was presented alongside a replica E9 CSL. This report was shot in NYC's warehouse! In addition to the car's entire life, we have a number of precious documents: a Belgian COC (for possible export), the original 1988 registration document and the sales invoice, the car pass (not very complete), the original keys, etc. Note that the rear windows do not open and that the tool kit is empty. We do, however, have its original spare wheel. We are aware that the price here is high on the market, but it takes into account a CSi (i. e. the fuel-injected version, which is more in demand), its original Fjord Blue (magnificent) colour, a manual gearbox, the beautiful and rare period options (sunroof, leather, (sunroof, leather, spoke rims), a COMPLETE history, real and not too high mileage, only 3 owners despite its 52 years, its current condition having been preserved as it was when it left the factory, that it is matching (number and colours) we are in the right. Indeed, buying one at half price but which will require a major restoration will ultimately cost more, as the price of parts is high, not to mention the complexity of finding them and not forgetting the time it will take ... The example presented here for sale has EVERYTHING going for it ... Guaranteed success on each of its outings, where other cars are too expensive.
