In the mid-60s, the fashion for small, sporty convertibles took off. The TR3 and TR4 (TR for Triumph Roadster) models enjoyed a certain success, but the demand for more powerful models was growing, and so the brand switched to 6-cylinders with the TR5. For the American market and to comply with anti-pollution standards, the brand exported just under 8, 500 examples of the TR 250, with the look of the TR5, whose main technical feature was that it had 2 carburettors and developed 104 bhp. The TR 250 was only produced for a total of 2 years. According to enthusiasts' clubs, there are no more than 1, 000 of them in existence worldwide. The car on offer is in concours condition, with everything absolutely original. The mechanicals are perfectly maintained, the brakes have recently been overhauled and the IRS suspension provides optimum comfort.
The upholstery, soft top and tonneau cover are in mint condition. The chrome is gleaming and there are no pitting marks. The car is finished in a very rare shade of yellow jasmine. It is fitted with a stainless steel pot, a fan, an automatic electric fan for optimised cooling, a silicon braking system, an electronic ignition, a USB socket and seat belts.
This TR 250 has been appraised by Classic Expert at a value of 45, 000 euros. The car will be sold with a cover and maintenance manuals in English and French, as well as a number of publications on the TR 250.
